Frankfurt am Main - the city with long history, known for its museums, cultural center, the financial capital of Germany and one of the largest hubs of modern Europe. Sooner or later every traveler gets there and he'll have to think about an affordable hotel. In my opinion, he will not find anything better than Pension Alpha, located just 5 minutes walk from the main railway station.
Getting there: On foot, my friend, of course on foot. Exit the main entrance of the main station, turn right, go around the station and reach street Mannheimer Strasse. There you need to cross the road, turn right and walk about 100 meters before crossing the little street Karlsruher strasse. There is the location of Pension Alpha, which is easy to find the green sign.
Accommodation : The room fairly clean, there are two beds, resembling a large hangerwardrobe, desk, two chairs, TV and a small table beside the bed. Spartan furnishings, but quite clean. Showers and toilets are on the floor, and winter in these areas can be warmer than in your room. The pension is an elevator, so you don’t have to lug suitcases up the stairs.
Nutrition : It is like a delicious and hearty breakfast, which included in room rate. In Italy and England this breakfast can’t be obtained even in a good 3 stars hotel hotel for 100 euros per night.
Distance from main attractions : 15 minutes walk to Beaches of Museums, 10 minutes - to the area nightly cabarets and bars, 15 minutes - before the skyscrapers of the financial center, and 20-25 minutes - to universal shopping street Zeil and surviving architectural masterpieces of the historical center. In general, for two days, I never used public transportation.
What's nearby : On the Karlsruher strasse you can find cheap Bosnian restaurant, two German beer bars, Polish store building supplies and Polish travel agency. Separately, I note the grocery store, combined with Internet cafe, which will always stay in touch.
Price : 30-35 euros per person depending on the season
Alternative : Across Pension Alpha you will see cheap hotel Little Paris, which stands at 5-10 euros more expensive.
