You must to pay your admission fee, which is not particularly cheap but includes a route planner giving in depth explanations on all the models, and some vouchers to get mini radios for the sound and light show. There are even a miniature Ajax soccer stadium and a really impressive model of Amsterdam Schiphol airport, complete with taxiing planes, moving luggage belts, and various trains, trams and buses coming and going between other exhibits. There are also raising bridges and boats galore. The tram stops right at the museum. The park is open all year round. The most crowded time of year is summer but winter is equally good. At sunset, 50,000 light bulbs give the city a magic glow.
